state series rules

 

Purpose

The Mi-NBL State Series is established to give riders across the state an opportunity to compete for a state ranking. The State Series shall be run according to NBL Local Rules, except as noted below.

 

Series Program

The Mi-NBL State Series shall consist of six (6) qualifier races, and one State Championship race. Riders must compete in three qualifiers to participate at the State Championship race in a point class. Riders must have competed in three State Qualifiers and the State Championship to qualify for a state number plate. A rider must place in the top fifteen in their class to qualify for the Presidents Cup. Non-qualified riders may compete at the State Championship in open class only. Open to all licensed NBL riders holding a valid NBL license. All riders must have their NBL card or Pink enrollment sheet to race at the Qualifiers and the State Championship Race.  The Wildcard point system may be used as one qualifying event, see your local clerk for details.  Riders are required to attend a minimum of two local races in the state

 

Mains / Transfers

The Mi-NBL will hold main event races for all point classes. Point classes with less than nine (9) riders will transfer all riders to the main event. All point class motos with less than five (5) riders will transfer all riders to the next round.

 

Classes

All riders shall participate in age / proficiency as listed in the NBL rule book as Local Classes. Class sizes will follow NBL local rules. Classes will be combined as required by the NBL rule book. Riders may run their national, regional, or state plate numbers. It is the responsibility of the rider and or parent guardian to assure that the number on the rider’s plate matches the number posted on the moto sheets. Number plates not matching the moto sheets may not be scored. There is no freeze date for age and/or proficiency.

 

Point system

Mi-NBL State Qualifier races will be scored as single points with motos and mains counting The Mi-NBL State Championship Race will be scored as a single point race, with motos and mains counting. The Michigan NBL award point chart will be used for scoring. (See below) Final state ranking will be based on a riders top three (3) qualifying scores plus their State championship score. Combined classes shall be pointed separately, for motos and mains. Points for combined classes will be re-calculated for riders that change proficiency prior to the state championship. Points earned at State Qualifiers and the State Championship will still be double and triple point races for the NBL Regional, State High Point and Leap Series.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Awards      

At State Qualifiers a Plaque will be given to point class riders making their mains. A Placement Plate will be given to all riders racing. Those riders not picking up their awards on the day of the race will be considered to have forfeited them. Combined classes will have separate awards. There will be no Open awards at State Qualifiers. All riders that participate in at least three qualifiers and the State championship race will receive a state number plate. Trophies will be presented to all riders making their main at the State Championship race.
